Locations
Manage your organisation's physical locations, geofencing, and site-level access in WoPora.
Locations
Locations represent the physical sites where your employees work --- offices, stores, warehouses, job sites, or any other work location. Navigate to Dashboard -> Locations.
Locations are used for:
- Geofencing (GPS-validating clock-ins)
- Filtering scheduling, timesheets, and reports by site
- Assigning employees and teams to a site
- Device (kiosk) assignment
Adding a Location
- Go to Dashboard -> Locations -> Add Location
- Enter the location name (e.g., "Sydney Head Office", "Warehouse B")
- Enter the street address
- The map will geocode the address automatically --- confirm the pin is in the correct place
- Set the geofence radius in metres (e.g., 100m)
- Optionally add a location code for internal reference
- Click Save Location
Geofencing
Geofencing uses GPS to validate that employees clock in from within an approved radius of the location.
How Geofencing Works
- When an employee clocks in (kiosk or staff portal), their device location is checked
- If the device is within the geofence radius, the clock-in is accepted
- If outside the radius, the system can: warn the employee, block the clock-in, or flag for manager review
Configuring Geofence Behaviour
- Open a location and go to the Geofencing tab
- Set the radius (50m---5000m)
- Choose the out-of-bounds action:
Warn--- Allow clock-in but flag itBlock--- Prevent clock-in until inside boundaryFlag for review--- Allow but queue for manager review
- Save
Assigning Employees to Locations
- Open the location
- Go to the Employees tab
- Click Add Employee and search by name
- Save
Alternatively, assign locations from the Employee profile.
Assigning Teams to Locations
- Open the location
- Go to the Teams tab
- Click Add Team and select from your list
- Save
Location Devices (Kiosks)
Each kiosk device is assigned to a specific location. This ties all clock events from that device to the correct location. See Devices for how to set up and manage kiosks.
Weather at Location
WoPora integrates real-time and forecast weather data per location. This weather context is displayed on the Scheduling page to help managers plan outdoor or weather-sensitive shifts. No setup is required beyond saving the location address.
Editing and Archiving Locations
- Edit a location by clicking the location name and updating fields
- Archive a location to remove it from active filters without deleting historical data
- Go to the location -> click Archive
- Archived locations still appear in historical reports
